The best way we know to find missing people, usually folks you haven’t been in contact with for a long time, sometimes decades, is to use the commercial, names and address search engines.

Using the huge databases of these pay search engines is your best bet for locating someone. 

Some searchers are put off at the aspect of paying for what you used to be able to get for free by looking in the phone book. 

But, don’t let that ancient notion stop you from using modern, technical wizardry that didn’t even exist way back then.

Twenty years ago, you’d be pretty much out of luck trying to contact people who could Be anywhere in the world, when all you had, as far as modern technical gadgetry, was a telephone and a local telephone book.

So, don’t leave yet, we have some useful hints to help you find what you’re looking for.

First, Check Out the People Search Engines

You wont have to pay anything until you after you find some interesting and helpful information and maybe not even then. You can use the people search engines for free to collect a lot of information to help you narrow down your search.

It’s actually fun to find things you would never have thought to look for when looking through the initial free search results lists.

Use Information You Already Have

Maybe you’ve already got a name, a phone number an address or just a hunch.

If you have an exact, correctly spelled name you can likely get an address, if it is listed, just from typing the phone number into Google, as you might have done to get here.

But, what you get may not be the person you’re looking for, if you’re not sure of the phone number to begin with. Check the various people search engines. You don’t have to pay until you get a lot more information
than you might not have possession of now and may not to pay even then.

For instance, you can collect a whole list of people with a particular last name and variations on first names and middle initials. If you don’t know the middle initial you are likely to find one in the lists you get for free.

Use Age and Middle Initials

Do you know the person’s approximate age? If so many of the people search engines will show age  information which can narrow down your list considerably. Obviously, so will State and City information. if you have that, use it.

Usually, the only thing you will wind up paying for is the final name address and phone information, but that will likely cost you only a couple of bucks. And, by the time you pay, you can be fairly certain you have narrowed your search sufficiently with the free information you’ve collected that your target is on that final list.

Don’t Pay Until You Have To

And frequently, you won’t have to. But, don’t pay for anything right away, use the people search engines to collect information you may not have. There are a lot of clues in the result lists to garner additional information.

Maybe You’ll Get Lucky: Try This

Pay only at the end of your research. But, once you reach that point, try a google search using this format:

First MI Last, city, state, zip.

If you don’t have all of that, use what you have.  If you’re lucky, you’ll get up to date name addresses and phone number information for free.
